Job Description

Penicuik Estate, which extends to 3,100 hectares, is located 10 miles south of Edinburgh. Owned and managed by the Clerk family since 1654, the Estate operates as a diversified rural business focusing on farming, forestry, real estate and renewables. With one of the finest designed landscapes in the country and over 15 miles of trails, the Estate provides a major recreational resource for Midlothian, with over 150,000 visitors a year. Now, with a new generation taking over the family business, the Estate is embarking on an exciting fresh chapter to continue its evolution, with the launch of a major hospitality project during 2024.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Penicuik Estate team. If successful in this role you will have overall responsibility for the facilities and maintenance of Estate’s buildings, grounds and infrastructure. This will include Standard Operating Procedures for planned, preventative and emergency work for all properties, estate-wide security, ensuring safe and well-maintained grounds. Starting alone but alongside contractors, farm and estate workers, you will eventually manage
a small but diverse team.
