The purpose of the post is to deliver key functions of the Communities and Lifelong Learning Service through one-to-one and group engagement. This includes face to face delivery with a variety of learning/employability partners and local people in a group and one to one basis to:
Increase and sustain positive destinations for all ages and abilities
Assess learning needs and plan appropriate learning opportunities
Prepare material and lesson plans for learners taking into account changes in curriculum
Deliver learning opportunities for those with additional support needs to secure positive outcomes
Delivery of accreditation for adults and young people
Assessment against recognised qualification frameworks
Carry out relevant Risk Assessment of Placement Provision premises
Participate in the recruitment of learners to a variety of Communities & Lifelong Learning programmes
Support successful transitions at key ages and stages
To help support implementation of key operational and national polices relating to communities and lifelong learning programmes
The work areas above involve:
Direct delivery of formal and informal learning, core and employability skills on an individual and group work basis
Support to adults and young people, developing appropriate learning and employability curriculum materials and evaluation processes
Enter data in to management information systems in order to support continuous improvement, create and support existing partnerships and increase operational delivery of learning and employability opportunities
Liaison and negotiation with staff in local schools and Further and Education Colleges, Employers, DWP, SDS, Adult Services, Children Services and Third Sector providers, Police and Fire Service.
It is essential that the postholder has one or more qualification at SCQF Level 7 or equivalent work experience.
It is essential that the post holder has experience of delivering lifelong learning and employability programmes and projects to individuals and groups.
It is desirable that they have supervised volunteers and have some experience of developing learning programmes.
It is desirable that they have an Assessor qualification.
