Just a short walk from the world-famous Rosslyn Chapel, Dolly’s Tea Room is a charming, family-run café and a beloved part of Roslin village life. Nestled within the historic Chapel Cross Guesthouse, Dolly’s underwent a full refurbishment and brand refresh in 2018, evolving into a vibrant hub for locals, walkers, families, and visitors exploring Midlothian.
Step inside, and you’ll find a warm, welcoming atmosphere, friendly faces, and a menu full of comforting favourites. We proudly serve award-winning Shibui Tea, sourced locally in Scotland, and our barista-style Lavazza coffee is a daily ritual for many – including Richard, husband of Dolly’s founder Amy, who takes his role as chief taster very seriously!
Whether you’re here for a relaxing afternoon tea, a hearty breakfast roll, or a light lunch of homemade soup, bagels, or sandwiches, everything is made with care and served with a smile. Much of our baking is supplied by local master bakers and Amy’s mother-in-law, Maureen– celebrating the best of local flavour.
But it’s the sweet side of Dolly’s that really steals the show.
Our legendary Megashakes and Supershakes – wild, colourful creations dreamed up by Amy during lockdown – quickly became our signature offering and helped Dolly’s thrive through the pandemic. Today, they’re joined by flavoured waffles, smoothies, creamy ice cream, and an ever-changing display of cakes and tray bakes. It’s no wonder children (and grown-ups) can’t resist asking to stop in.
