Bea and Brodie’s Mindful Journey: Collaboration Between Local Businesses Leads to Wonderful Book

Local artist, Heather McLennan has partnered with Midlothian business, The Wee Book Company, to create Bea and Brodie’s Mindful Journey, a wonderful book for all ages, just in time for Christmas.

Bea and Brodie's Mindful JourneyHeather McLennan, the celebrated self taught artist from West Linton in the Scottish Borders is celebrating the launch of her first book, ‘Bea and Brodie’s Mindful Journey’ on 2 December, available from shops and The Wee Book Company’s online store.

The book centres around Heather’s artistic creations of best friends Bea, a light-hearted honey bee, and Brodie, a big handsome Highland cow. Brodie feels heavy and uncharacteristically out of sorts so Bea takes him on a journey around the Scottish capital with her light-hearted energy and mindful thoughts – which focus on the history and majesty of Scotland – inspiring Brodie’s return to happiness.

Heather’s paintings have been sold all over the world but what she values most is the spiritual nature of her work.  ‘In these difficult days,’ says Heather, ‘it is more important than ever to be able to live in the moment and experience calm.  This is what the book is about – living every day to the full.’  Susan of the Wee Book Company agrees.   She says, ‘although this book is printed in a format which will delight children, it has something to say to people of all ages.  All of us have to grab joy whenever we can.’

‘Bea and Brodie’s Mindful Journey’ is out in the shops in time for Christmas and can be ordered at www.theweebookcompany.com.

Prints of the beautiful artwork created for the book are also available for purchase on The Wee Book Company’s website and you can keep up to date with Bea and Brodie and their adventures on their Facebook page.
