Midlothian Snowsports Centre, Hillend
Midlothian Council has been granted planning permission in principle for its Destination Hillend development, which will enhance the existing leisure facilities at Midlothian Snowsports Centre, creating an all-year-round, multi-activity leisure destination.
The development may include the following over several phases of development:
- Zipline (highest in UK)
- Alpine coaster (longest in UK)
- New reception building for the Snowsports Centre
- Food offer and function space
- Associated retail space – outdoor pursuits
- Glamping tourist accommodation
- High ropes and soft play
- Essential infrastructure upgrades
Shawfair Business Park
Shawfair is emerging as Scotland's premier new town, designed to meet the needs of modern lifestyles and businesses. With excellent road and rail links to Edinburgh, the Borders, and beyond, Shawfair offers a unique blend of country living and urban convenience and is one of Scotland’s best-connected towns.
Shawfair Park, considered the gateway to the new town, offers prime development land for various commercial uses. A brand new business and industrial estate has been approved for Sheriffhall South with Class 4 and Class 6 development for future business use. A drive-through coffee shop, associated car parking, access, infrastructure and landscaping all form part of the approved plans with imminent development planned.
Vogrie Country Park
Vogrie Country Park has 105 hectares of woods and Victorian parkland including a 1876 Victorian mansion - part of which is open to the public, a nine-hole golf course, adventure playground and an excellent cafeteria.
There are 11.5 miles of signed countryside paths through woodlands and the Tyne Valley and a section of the 13-mile Tyne Esk Trail for horse riders.
There are a variety of opportunities and potential developments within Vogrie Country Park.
Hopefield
Properties will be available soon at Hopefield, Midlothian. These will include serviced development plots for business, research and development or light industry (Class 4) uses.
