Cycling challenge arrives in Midlothian!
Midlothian Council is encouraging Midlothian residents and those who work in the area to join the Ride it Out cycling challenge.
This fun and motivating cycling challenge, running till the 30th of April 2021, is a fantastic way for new and experienced riders to enjoy the benefits of cycling. The project is run by the organisation Love to Ride.
Time to get on your bike!
Everyone can join in – it doesn’t matter if you ride every day or haven’t been on a bike in years. Participants need to be aged 13 or over with a Midlothian Postcode. If you work in the area make sure you register with your work address so you can be part of the Midlothian challenge. The event provides great incentives for cyclists to achieve personal goals, challenge themselves or compete against friends. This can all be completed easily by logging rides on Midlothian’s bespoke Ride it Out website.
Over the 3 months different themes will be introduced to help people rediscover the joys of cycling as restrictions hopefully ease and the weather improves. Participants also have the chance to win exciting cycling related prizes.
Challenge yourself this March
It is hoped that participants who start riding in February will participate in the special ‘Ride it Out!’ event in March and continue cycling on throughout April.
