Dalkeith Country Park Launches The BIG Summer Screen!

A month-long celebration of sport, film, and summer fun – 30th June to 27th July 2025

Dalkeith Country Park is set to kick off a summer of feel-good entertainment with the arrival of The Big Summer Screen, a brand-new outdoor experience running from 30th June to 27th July 2025. Set against the stunning backdrop of The Park’s historic Orangerie, the screen will show live sport during the day – including all the action from Wimbledon and the Lions Rugby Tour – followed by exclusive cinema evenings for campsite guests.

Free to attend and with no booking required, The Big Summer Screen is designed to be a relaxed and welcoming space for families, friends, and sports fans alike. Seating is first come, first served, with a limited number of deck chairs available. Visitors are welcome to bring along their own picnic blankets and chairs to settle in and enjoy the show.

From 30th June to 13th July, Wimbledon will take centre stage, streamed live daily. Visitors can catch every serve, rally and championship point while soaking up the summer sun and enjoying classic courtside treats like strawberries & cream. The Park’s open-air setting offers a unique way to experience one of the UK’s most-loved sporting events, surrounded by nature and atmosphere.

As the sun sets, the mood shifts. On selected evenings throughout July, the screen will come alive with film favourites for campers staying at the Dalkeith Country Park summer campsite. These cinema nights will be exclusive to overnight guests and promise a mix of feel-good films, family adventures, and nostalgic classics under the stars.

No summer screening would be complete without food and drink, and The Big Summer Screen will offer plenty to tempt the taste buds. Visitors can tuck into street food from the popular Pink Elephant food truck, and a full selection of cinema snacks, including popcorn, crisps and sweets. A dedicated drinks bar will be serving summer favourites like Aperol Spritz and Pimm’s alongside soft drinks – perfect for raising a glass to an ace day out.
