Employment Support - Developing The Young Workforce Edinburgh, Midlothian and East Lothian

Developing the Young Workforce (DYW) is the Scottish Government’s Youth Employment strategy to better prepare young people for the world of work.

Informing, inspiring and hiring young people develops a highly skilled, committed and qualified future workforce. Create the future talent pool you need, with a longer term plan for skills investment by inspiring young people in education.

Getting involved helps young people to make informed choices about learning, jobs and careers. We can offer free support to help diversify your workforce, improve retention and reduce recruitment costs.

DYW is changing the way the business and education worlds connect. The curriculum is changing to reflect business needs and young people are developing vocationally alongside the more traditional qualifications taught at school. No matter your size or sector here’s your chance to be involved.
