For the first time in Scotland, Go Ape is offering an extraordinary after-dark experience as part of Dalkeith Country Park’s WinterFest programme. Sundown Adventures transforms the familiar high ropes course into a magical nighttime challenge, with glowing lights illuminating the treetop canopy and zip wires soaring over the River Esk.
Running on selected dates from 28th November to 30th December, this unique adventure invites thrill-seekers of all ages to become creatures of the night, navigating illuminated obstacles high above the forest floor and experiencing the adrenaline rush of zip-lining into darkness.

The Sundown Adventures experience offers something truly special. As daylight fades, the forest takes on an entirely different character. Colourful lights guide your way through the canopy as you tackle tree-top crossings and challenges, all whilst taking in the atmospheric beauty of the woodland after dark. Expect epic forest views under the night sky that simply aren’t possible during regular hours.

Suitable for ages 6 and up (minimum height 1.2 metres), this is an experience that will delight children and adults alike.
What to Know Before You Go
Duration: Plan for approximately two hours total, including your safety briefing, harness fitting, and one hour on the course itself.
Session Times: Start times vary between 16:30 and 18:00, allowing you to experience the course as darkness falls.
Safety: Every session begins with a safety briefing and harness fitting. The course uses a continuous belay safety system, ensuring you’re secure throughout your adventure.
What to Wear: Dress warmly! It gets notably chillier up in the trees at night, so layers are highly recommended.
