Join Midlothian Council at Meet the Buyer South, the largest free procurement event in the South of Scotland
The Supplier Development Programme will host the fourth annual Meet the Buyer South event on Wednesday 8 October at The Tait Hall, Kelso and Midlothian Council will be there to engage with local businesses.
Connecting suppliers with the Public Sector
This free networking event connects suppliers with public and private sector buyers, including Midlothian Council’s Procurement Service, to help them discover upcoming contracts and opportunities across the South East of Scotland.
Delivered in partnership with East Lothian Council, Midlothian Council, Scottish Borders Council, and South of Scotland Enterprise, this free event allows suppliers to introduce their business to decision makers from across the region, all under one roof.
Engage with Key Buyers
Alongside the event partners, attendees will have the opportunity to engage with key buyers and decision makers from Borders College, Eildon Housing Association, Scotland Excel, Scottish Borders Housing Association (SBHA), Scottish Government, Transport Scotland, Waverley Housing Association, and more.
On the day, suppliers will also have a chance to engage with representatives from Business Gateway, South of Scotland Enterprise, and the Supplier Development Programme, to learn about the range of support available to help local businesses grow and compete for contracts.
Access Business Opportunities
This event is designed to help micro, small and medium sized businesses in the South East of Scotland access business opportunities in the public sector. However, businesses of all sizes are welcome to attend Meet the Buyer South.
Gillian Cameron, Programme Manager, Supplier Development Programme, said:
“The South of Scotland is open for business. Meet the Buyer South is an unmissable opportunity for businesses to take just one day out of the office to meet a variety of public sector buyers, private sector contractors, and business support organisations.”
“This year’s event will showcase upcoming opportunities in the South East of Scotland. I would encourage all local businesses, especially SMEs, to book their free place, as there are real opportunities to gain work from the connections made on 8 October.”
