New Businesses in Midlothian – October Round Up
October 2020 New Businesses in Midlothian
Welcome to our October instalment of new businesses starting up in Midlothian. We’re showcasing the fantastic new companies who have set up locally, bringing new ideas and services to the Midlothian community and beyond. With Local Restrictions proving a real challenge for local businesses, it’s fantastic to see new businesses starting up and thriving during challenging times.
First up is an established yet new business in Penicuik, ColorPrinz
Started 30 years ago, ColorPrinz is a graphic design and print specialist offering everything from promotional design to expert print finishing, ensuring customers receive a personal touch with each order. When the owners decided to sell the business to retire, employees Ali and Keith seized the opportunity to be their own bosses, taking over the reins of this Penicuik based business to ensure it remained in their local area.
This employee-owned business supports both local SMEs and large, national organisations with their bespoke design and print requirements. With extensive experience, Ali and Keith offer expert ideas, advice and recommendations as standard when you work with ColorPrinz. There’s an exciting future ahead for these new business owners and we can’t wait to see them flourish.
Nibble & Pickle
Owner and creator, Lisa, set up Nibble & Pickle through her love and passion for food. Nibble & Pickle provide high quality grazing boxes and sharing platters, delivered straight to your door. Containing a range of charcuterie, cheeses, freshly baked bread and antipasti there’s a box suited to every occasion and every taste. From date nights to family events, they’re perfect for a night in or celebration! With a variety of sizes, contents and extra treats available, these delivery boxes offer diners a change for the normal takeaway and delivery options, ideal for winter evenings spent at home.
Set up during the Covid pandemic, after identifying that people’s work and leisure time is very precious, Vida Management is a bespoke, professional concierge and lifestyle management service. From travelling to leisure activities and bespoke experiences, Vida Management take the hassle and stress away from organising and booking trips and events. They create tailor made experiences for their clients, allowing them to enjoy and make best use of their leisure time.
Born out of her love for hillwalking, mountains and adventures, Iona initially set up her own Facebook group, Iona’s Adventures, to find likeminded people who wanted to get out and about in the hills of Midlothian (and beyond!) Training to gain her Mountain Leader Award, Iona has created a community of people sharing their love for the great outdoors and made contacts who are helping her achieve her dream. The group has steadily grown to over 3,500 members in the last few years and Iona is now planning to provide skills courses and services to help the members further enjoy their outdoor adventures.
The Chef at No.3
The Chef at No.3 provides superb quality, affordable restaurant-style food, delivered direct to your door. Becky and Fred Lumineau launched The Chef at No.3 to bring customers the restaurant food and experience that they’ve been missing to their homes. Fred is a fabulous chef who found himself out of work when the restaurant he worked in closed due to the pandemic. To continue working and creating the food he loved, The Chef at No.3 was born. Offering new weekly menus using the finest ingredients, diners are treated to magnificent meals in the comfort of their own homes. With rave reviews we know where we’ll be ordering from next!
