Rory Joyce, Director of Peter Joyce & Sons, saw a Community Benefit request from LASC on Locate in Midlothian’s social media channels, the Midlothian Council Economic Development Service shopfront for those who want to live, work, invest, start a business or visit Midlothian. The team at Peter Joyce & Son quickly sprung into action to ensure their support could be put to good use.
As part of Peter Joyce & Sons commitment to give back to their community they offered roof repairs and fascia board replacements, groundworks to level external areas, electrical work and painting of the external building of LASC’s centre free of charge to ensure this important service at the heart of the community could continue to operate in a safe and secure way.
This support has ensured that LASC is fully watertight and has safe spaces for children to play, learn and develop. Peter Joyce & Sons recognise the importance of LASC’s work and the impact it has on the local community.
Director, Rory Joyce, said: “As soon as we saw the request for support for LASC we got in touch with Midlothian Council’s Economic Development Service to see how we could help. LASC is a lifeline for many local families who know their children and young adults are being cared for when they need to work or require respite. Being able to support LASC not only allows us to give back to our local area but ensures that more people can use these facilities in the future.”
LASC Chief Executive Officer, Jamie Piriou, said: “Without the support from Midlothian Council’s Economic Development Service and Peter Joyce & Sons, we wouldn’t have been able to make the required repairs to our centre. The centre looks more welcoming and the high quality workmanship provided has ensured we’re secure, safe and our outdoor spaces are more accessible for our users. We can’t thank the team enough for helping us improve our centre for families in Midlothian.”
