Author and entrepreneur

Midlothian Author Susan McInness wanted to use her experience of recovering from mental health struggles to help others and so, Time To Shine was born. A busy mum with a job in accounting and finance and an ambassador for a skincare brand, Susan found herself looking for ways to support her long term mental wellness.

Susan has taken all her learnings and created a toolkit to help others with positive thinking, mindfulness and uplifting practices. The self-published Time To Shine journal is already a number one best seller on Amazon and those using the journal can access a dedicated, private Facebook group to continue their learning, connect with others on their wellness journey and get fantastic advice, tips and extra tools from Susan.

Champion of Midlothian Businesses

Susan has worked with a number of local, Midlothian businesses to make her journal a reality. Partnering with design agency Fifth House, Time to Shine’s website, social media and illustrations in the journal have been brought to life.

Based in Lasswade, Susan wanted to launch her book in-person for supporters and friends at a venue that complimented her ethos and values. Restoration Yard at Dalkeith Country Park was the perfect setting, surrounded by nature for an intimate gathering of those who have been involved in the evolution of Time to Shine.
