Midlothian Doors Open Day
Venues across Midlothian, 9th September
On Saturday 9th September, 20 venues in Midlothian will be open to the public free of charge. The whole family can discover buildings and spaces not normally open to the public as Midlothian once again takes part in Scotland’s annual Doors Open Days.
Open Studios Day & Makers Market
Rosemains Steading, 9th September, 10am – 4pm
Rosemains Steading are hosting their first Open Studios Day and Makers Market with Village Green Events. The resident businesses of Rosemains Steading will be opening their studios to visitors and the steading courtyard will come alive with a Makers Market.
There are also workshops being held in the Wildflower meadow, a treasure hunt for children and delicious food and drink available.
Mad Hatter’s Tea Party
Glencorse Centre, 10th September, 10am -12pm
Head along to the Glencorse Centre for a morning of tea, cake, fun activities, face painting, a bouncy castle and much more at their Mad Hatter’s Tea Party.
The team are looking for volunteers to help on the day, bake cakes and donate tombola prizes so if you can help, please get in touch with the Glencorse team. All profits from this event will be used to create a sensory garden at Glencorse Centre for everyone to enjoy.
The Market at Dalkeith Country Park
Dalkeith Country Park, 16th September 10am – 4pm
Featuring businesses from the local area and the rest of Scotland, the monthly Market at Dalkeith Country Park is back on the 16th September. With stalls offering food, drinks, arts & crafts, artisan products and more, there’s something for everyone!

Penfest 2023
Penicuik Community Arts Association, 22nd September – 1st October
Penicuik Community Arts Association’s annual arts celebration, Penfest, is back on the 22nd September. Join them for ten days of music, art and craft from their home-grown artists.

Vogrie Pogrie
Vogrie Country Park, 15th – 17th September
Vogrie Pogrie, Midlothian’s free family festival for creativity and curious happenings, is back for another year! This celebratory weekend of innovative open air performance and creative happenings of all kinds takes place in the beautiful setting of Vogrie Country Park and offers camping for those who want to enjoy every moment.
Suitable for the whole family from the kids to grandparents and even your dog, it’s set to be another fantastic year at Vogrie Pogrie.

Bingo Night
Gorebridge Beacon, 15th September, from 6.30pm
Join in the fun at Gorebridge Beacon’s fundraising Bingo Night! With prizes to be won, nibbles from the café to be enjoyed and a raffle to try your luck at, this is a great opportunity to support Gorebridge Community Development Trust. Funds will go towards their charitable activities including the Gorebridge Community Pantry, Gorebridge Community Gardeners, and Beacon activities.
Autumn Equinox Fayre
One Dalkeith, 23rd September, 10.30am – 3pm
A host of fantastic alternative and holistic vendors will be popping up at One Dalkeith on the 23rd September for the Autumn Equinox Fayre. The family friendly event gives you the chance to learn all about wellness, healing and alternative therapies while browsing a host of local makers stalls, take part in workshops and enjoy refreshments in the café.

Penicuik Storehouse, 24th September
