Midlothian Job Opportunities – Join Midlothian’s Economic Development Team

Midlothian job opportunities within the Economic Development Team. New team members are sought to help drive Midlothian forward and really put it on the map as a great green place to do business.

Three roles are currently available within the Midlothian Economic Development team; two Economic Development Officers and a Business Gateway Midlothian Adviser. All posts play a key role in developing and supporting business and economic growth in Midlothian and are an exciting opportunity to be part of our ambition to create a strong local economy that is able to compete nationally and internationally.

Economic Development Officer Roles

This varied and busy role within the Economic Development team stimulates business development and economic growth in Midlothian. Working closely with key partners, the Economic Development Officer will support the delivery of the Midlothian Strategy for Growth, contributing to the achievement of this ambitious, forward thinking strategy for Midlothian.

Two Economic Development Officer roles are currently available, one permanent and the other fixed term until April 2022.  Partnership working and relationship building are the key qualities required of candidates as the Economic Development Officer will work with our local businesses and local and national organisations.

Business Gateway Midlothian Adviser

The Business Gateway Midlothian service is an intrinsic part of the Economic Development team,  and Advisers also work closely with the Edinburgh and Lothian’s regional Business Gateway teams.

The post holder will maintain a portfolio of businesses with growth potential and proactively engage new inward investment opportunities, playing a key role in facilitating business development and growth in the region. The Adviser will also support and advise new businesses as they navigate the move to self-employment and take their first steps as a start-up.
